Meet Richard J. Schroeder (but please, call him Rick). Rick graduated cum laude from Hamline University School of Law and has been practicing law for over 29 years.
He’s licensed in all District, Circuit and Federal courts in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Georgia. His passion for litigation focuses on personal injury, workers’ compensation and insurance disputes.
Most notably, he’s argued cases with some of the best trial lawyers in the country and has represented clients throughout the United States. He’s handled cases in sixteen different states, including Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, North and South Dakota and more.
But Rick is more than just another injury lawyer. He brings invaluable, relevant experience you won’t find in any law book, or with any 1-800 number — but is imperative to winning settlements. Rick has also been selected as Super Lawyer® (MN) for 16 years, from 2008-2023.

Rick has been racing, repairing and riding motorcycles his entire life. He raced motocross as a teenager from 1976 to 1980 and has owned a variety of motorcycles (including Honda, Suzuki, Triumph and Harley Davidson) throughout his racing and riding career. He continues to ride every summer. He even takes trips around the Midwest and has attended motorcycle events in Milwaukee, Sturgis, Phoenix and Atlanta.
A lover of all things gas and oil, Rick has been around trucks and the trucking industry since his early childhood. In fact, he was driving semi-tractors and backing trailers around his father’s truck dealership lot before even having his driver’s permit. Rick’s own experience extends to knowing capable, responsible truckers. It’s important to have an attorney who knows how to operate a semi-tractor and trailer, has driven one, has been around the trucking industry and has represented truck drivers and accident victims throughout his career.
Also a former insurance claims adjuster, Rick knows the nuances and inner workings of the insurance industry. He’s been on the other side. He knows what he’s up against and he knows how to beat them. As a result, his Minnesota colleagues associate him with him on Wisconsin client matters. He is also frequently selected to arbitrate insurance disputes.

Rick lives in Hugo, Minnesota. He enjoys motorcycling, boxing, exercise and classic cars.
